Bread Sauce

A classic bread sauce to accompany any poultry.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 pint of milk
  • 1 medium onion cut across
  • 1 bay leave
  • 15 cloves (half in each piece of onion)
  • 6 peppercorns
  • salt and pepper
  • 2oz butter max
  • 3oz breadcrumbs, no crust
Instructions
  1. Bring to boil in pan everything apart from the bread crumbs and butter
  2. Leave to stand for > 30 minutes then strain the milk
  3. Return the boil and add breadcrumbs and butter
  4. Serve with your favourite roast poultry
