Healthy Burger
A lightened-up, Five Guys-style smashburger with egg white folded into the mince for extra protein and fewer calories, built with light cheese and mayo.
Ingredients
- 800g lean beef mince
- 140g egg white
- Salt and pepper
- 4 low-calorie burger buns
- 8 slices light burger cheese
- 60g ketchup
- 60g light mayonnaise
- Pickles, to serve
- Onion, sliced, to serve
- Tomato, sliced, to serve
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the lean beef mince with the egg white and season well with salt and pepper.
- Divide the mixture into 8 balls and flatten into thin patties, smashburger-style.
- Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over high heat. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes on the first side, pressing down to create a crispy crust.
- Flip the patties, top with the cheese slices to melt, and cook for a further 1-2 minutes.
- Toast the burger buns.
- Build each burger with a bun base, two patties with melted cheese, sliced onion, tomato and pickles, then ketchup and mayo. Top with the bun lid and serve immediately.
