Ingredients
  • 800g lean beef mince
  • 140g egg white
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 low-calorie burger buns
  • 8 slices light burger cheese
  • 60g ketchup
  • 60g light mayonnaise
  • Pickles, to serve
  • Onion, sliced, to serve
  • Tomato, sliced, to serve
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, mix the lean beef mince with the egg white and season well with salt and pepper.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 balls and flatten into thin patties, smashburger-style.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over high heat. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes on the first side, pressing down to create a crispy crust.
  4. Flip the patties, top with the cheese slices to melt, and cook for a further 1-2 minutes.
  5. Toast the burger buns.
  6. Build each burger with a bun base, two patties with melted cheese, sliced onion, tomato and pickles, then ketchup and mayo. Top with the bun lid and serve immediately.
